" Buying a vacation home can be tricky because of unfamiliarity with a remote locale. For us, this was neatly mitigated by our agent Tony Stegall. For the majority of last year, we were back in Massachusetts and Tony worked tirelessly to ultimately bring us to the villa of our dreams. He answered a thousand questions through email and phone calls on specific villas.

Tony sent us weekly website updates on available villas within our targeted criteria. Upon our requests, several times he took digital pictures of properties and emailed them to us. Tony emailed us documents and files on a myriad of topics. He provided an ideal level of support and communication. We point out that during this time we had never met Tony face-to-face.

But the real work started when we arrived for our winter on HHI. We put him through the paces looking at many villas. He made all the arrangements and taxied us around like we were the most important people on the island. We repeated, three-peated, and probably four-peated some places. Tony always smiled and was ready to go. He was instrumental in getting us to target the final properties and guide us to honest pricing expectations. Tony truly brokered the final deal in the noblest sense.

It didn't end with the signed agreement. Tony continued working on our behalf whether it was arranging for a lawyer, an insurance agent, home inspector, or someone to change the locks. Never stopping, he interrupted our closing with a phone call because he caught an error in the settlement sheet which saved us a few hundred dollars.

We consider Tony a friend who still hasn't stopped providing us with on the ground support on Hilton Head."
